The annual tuition fees for bachelor programs are €20,000. For a nine-month academic year at the campus it costs €4,500. It includes a single bedroom, a shared bathroom for two students, 3 meals per day, standard utility costs and free access to the internet. If you want access to the university’s gym, you´ll have to pay an extra fee of €15.

Scholarship

You have the possibility to apply for a scholarship. There are two kinds of scholarships, the first is a partial entrance scholarship from Jacobs University and the second one is an external scholarship sponsored by various companies. A complete application for Jacobs University via Common App you will automatically be considered for either the partial entrance scholarship or the external scholarship.

The partial entrance scholarship explores your academic results and talents. The external scholarship on the other hand delves into your material wealth or resources. Depending on your financial situation you can have up to 50% of the fees paid for you.

At Jacobs University they want to give you the chance of a good education, that’s why some people are eligible for individualized financial aid. You can receive grants, if you are struggling with your financial situation, scholarships and your tuition can be postponed.

 The university also allows you to work there, for example in the library or the gym. In that way you can get extra pocket money. Since you also have classes to go to you will be able to work around them so that the work and the school doesn’t occur at the same time. That means you might just work for 2 hours at a time.

The advantages of studying at the Jacobs are the multiculture, the intercultural skills, which are necessary for future careers, the intense programs and their high quality and the small groups, where you can have a real hands-on experience. Another advantage is a phenomenon called transdisciplinarity, what means that the students get a wide view about different topics, so students from different courses can talk about a specific subject and everyone has his own point of view about it. The Research which is made here is really relevant and treats real life problems. There is a social diversity on campus, what means that both wealthy people and people who could actually not afford to study there are also getting the chance, because they can get scholarships and financial aid. The courses are very flexible, what means that students can change their main subject after their first year of bachelor studies.
